Curry Arts members step up after 2018 Brew & Art Festival cancellation

Several Curry Arts members stepped forward to donate over $600 after the cancellation of the 2018 Brew & Art Festival. The cancellation, due to the Event Center being occupied by fire-fighting teams working to quell the Agness blaze, resulted in Curry Arts being unable to make its annual contribution to the Gold Beach school arts programs.

In normal years, Curry Arts donates their entire portion of the proceeds to support educational art activities in the Gold Beach schools, usually about $5,000 annually. Curry Arts has donated more than $25,000 to the school arts programs over the past five years.

Because of the large member donations and a match by Curry Arts, a donation of $1,200 has been made to the Gold Beach schools’ arts programs this year.

This donation, while not as large as in normal years, is being used to purchase art supplies and to help prepare student artwork for upcoming shows.

The 2019 Brew & Art Festival will be held on June 22, 2019 from noon to 9 pm at the Curry County Fairgrounds Event Center in Gold Beach. Tickets are on sale at: Interiors, Dan’s Ace Hardware, Gold Beach Books, Wright’s Custom Framing & Art Supplies, and Sassy Seagull.

See the 2019 Brew & Art Festival website goldbeachbrewfest.org for details.
