Curry Arts donates $1,500 to support arts and music education in Gold Beach schools

The Curry Arts board took action at their September 28 annual meeting, to donate $1,500 to the Gold Beach arts and music programs.

These funds were raised through a combination of donations, membership dues, and fundraising efforts.

This raises the total donated by Curry Arts to these important local programs to nearly $32,000 in the past several years.

The instructional donations are made to a “290 Fund” that is managed by the classroom teachers and used to purchase art and music supplies. The donations cannot be used to replace school funding that is diverted for other purposes.

This year, part of the contribution to the arts program will be used to purchase supplies for students to participate in the “Tiny Art Show” being sponsored at the Curry Public Library.

It is because of the generosity of our members that we are able to continue these important contributions.

Thanks to all who participate!
