PBAA 2019 Azalea Festival Art Show – Call to Artists

The 80th annual Azalea Festival Art Show, sponsored by the Pelican Bay Arts Association, will be held at the Azalea Middle School in Brookings, Oregon on Saturday May 25 11 am to 5 pm and Sunday May 26 10 am to 4 pm.

Entry deadline for artwork applications is Saturday April 27 4 pm.

Festival of Art in Stout Park vendor applications now available


Pelican Bay Arts Association announces that vendor applications are now available for the Festival of Art in Stout Park, a two day annual fine art and craft festival held on August 3 and 4 this year. You can pick up an application at Manley Art Center, 433 Oak Street in Brookings, or print one online at pelicanbayartsassociation.org or wildriverscoastart.com. 

This annual Festival includes original art works and handcrafted items from artisan vendors, art demos, a “Forgeries for Sale” art exhibit, a kid’s art zone, live music by a variety of local musicians, and a food and beverage court. The event is held in Stout Park adjacent to Manley Art Center on Oak Street in Brookings.

Curry County seeks veteran’s mural project artists

Curry County is seeking youth groups, art classes, artists and other interested parties to paint Veteran related murals on the inside walls of the County Annex.

Interested parties are asked to propose a scope of work that will be reviewed by Commissioner Sue Gold, Veteran’s Service Officer Anthony Voudy, and Director of Operations Julie Schmelzer.

Call to Artists

RULES OF ENTRY:
Accepted Media:  All 2-D media, including oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, drawing, print making (artist-pulled prints), collage, mixed media, assemblage and encaustic.

Not included: Photography and/or digital prints of any kind.

CATEGORIES:
Miniature: Artwork, including frame, should not exceed 14” in either direction
Small Works: Artwork, including frame, should not exceed 16” in either direction
All work must be framed or on gallery wrap canvas, including a wire hanger (no saw tooth hangers please).

ART DELIVERY:
Sunday, April 28th and Monday, April 29th between the hours of 11:00 am and 5:00 pm.
Deliver up to 3 pieces of art, together with completed Entry Form and appropriate fees to Art by the Sea Gallery & Studio, 145 Fillmore Avenue SE, Bandon, OR 974511.

2019 Port of Bandon Boardwalk Art Show

2019 Port of Bandon Boardwalk Art Show
Call to Artists
Theme:  “Wings – Wind – Waves”

You may enter original artwork incorporating variations on the “Wings – Wind – Waves” theme.  This show celebrates the birds, fish and other animals that live in or visit our local area.

You may include real or imagined subjects that relate to the theme.  Wings can relate to birds, fish, planes, angels, fairies, etc.  Wind or wind propelled objects such as boats, sail boards, sand, foam, leaves, etc.  Waves can be ocean, lake, river or other take-offs on the subject.

Boards are available starting Friday, March 15, 2019 at Port of Bandon office, 390 1st St SW, Bandon and at Art by the Sea Gallery, 145 Fillmore Ave. SE, Bandon

Cost of the boards are $10 each.  The money goes to cover costs of prize money and boards.

Deadline to return boards is Friday, May 10, 2019.

Show runs May 25th through September 17th, with a new “Bravo Show” for the prize winners’ and honorees’ boards at the Old Town Marketplace during October & November 2019.
