Call to Curry Arts Member Artists – Summer Art Show
“It’s an Ocean World” – Tuesday, August 4, 2026
First Chapter Coffee House

Curry Arts members are invited to hang works in the Curry Arts gallery section of the First Chapter Coffee House, 29325 Ellensburg Ave., in Gold Beach, for the new show beginning August 4, 2026 through approximately October 6, 2026.

The theme of this show is:  “It’s an Ocean World”.

The show is open to current Curry Arts Members Only.  Note that 8/31/25-8/31/26 membership dues can be paid at the hanging.

Please bring art to First Chapter Coffee House on Tuesday, August 4 between 2-3 p.m.  We ask that you stay for the hanging which will begin at approximately 2:45 p.m.

If you are unable to come to the exchange, and have work to pick up, please let us know.

Figure Group Meet-up in Port Orford – Mondays

Laurie Balmuth has organized a weekly figure group meeting Mondays in Port Orford.

Draw from a live model on Monday mornings at 10:15 a.m. in the community room of Zion Church at 20th and Washington Street in Port Orford.

Directions:  Turn off Hwy 101 at the carwash, enter on the east side, adjacent to the Common Good Food Bank.

A sliding scale of all money goes to the model.

Weekly Figure Group Meet-up – Thursdays through December 4

The Figure Group artists will meet on Thursdays from 10:00-1:00
at First Chapter Coffee House. The cost is $15, which pays for
the live model at each session.  

Sessions will run on Thursdays, through December 4, excluding 
Thanksgiving Day November 27.

Artists of all levels are welcome! 

Participants should plan to bring their own art materials 
and may work in any drawing or painting medium that they choose.

Curry Arts Member Show “The Rhythm of Nature” – First Chapter Coffee House Thru December 3, 2025

 

The new Curry Arts member show, “The Rhythm of Nature” is now on display at the First Chapter Coffee House in Gold Beach.  This show will hang through approximately December 3, 2025.

Stop by and see these inspirational pieces painted by Curry Arts members.

Participating artists include:

Lisa Calvet-Smith, Magda Druzdzel, Alexandra Eyer, Sharon Guinn, Chris Keusink, Lucie LaBonte, Shelley MacIntosh, Pat Renner, Jane Schmaltz, John Harlow Seefried.

Future Themes for 2025 Curry Arts Member Shows

The theme for the next First Chapter Curry Arts Member show is, which will run from approximately December 3, 2025 through March 4, 2026, will be “Small Wonders,” with artwork that is a maximum size of 12”x12” (144 sq inches) total.

Dates are tentative and an email blast will be sent to all members as show plans firm up.

Reminder that shows are open to all current Curry Arts members only and membership fees can be paid at the hanging.
