Call to Artists
Photography Show – “Eye and the Lens”
January 30 to February 29, 2020

Accepted Works:
Photographic works, excluding video.  No specific theme.
Each piece must be wired and ready to hang on the wall (please – no saw-tooth if possible).
Size Limit:  20 inches in any direction  – image size
Size Limit:  24-inches in any direction –  frame size

Art Delivery:
Sunday or Monday, January 26 and 27, between the hours of 10:30 am and 3:30 pm.
Deliver 1-3 pieces of art, together with completed entry form and appropriate fees to Art by the Sea Gallery & Studio, 145 Fillmore Street SE, Bandon, OR 97411.  (If you cannot deliver during these hours please contact the gallery to arrange a different time.)
Also, please attach a copy of your biography (if available), which will be included in the Photography Show binder.

Entry Fees:
First entry – $10.
Second and Third entries – $5 each.
All art must be for sale and priced.
Please note that the Gallery will charge a 25% commission fee on work sold so please price your work accordingly.

Awards:   Judge – Archi Davenport, Coos Bay photographer.
Prizes will be $50 first place, $25 second place, $15 third place, plus Honorable Mention ribbons.  A People’s Choice Award will be decided by public ballot, the winner to receive a one month exhibition as Featured Artist at Art by the Sea Gallery and Studio during 2020.

Artist Calendar:
Art Delivery:  Sunday or Monday, January 26 and 27, between the hours of 10:30 and 3:30 pm.

Artist Reception: Saturday, February 1st from 2:00 – 4:00 pm.  We hope you will come to the reception.  It’s always more fun when the participants are present.  The judge will be commenting on the strong points of the works and about photography in general.

Artwork Pick Up:  Sunday & Monday, March 1st and 2nd from 10:30 pm – 3:30 pm.
Artists who have sold work will be paid on date of artwork pick up (March 1st or March 2nd).

The United Way of Southwestern Oregon is looking for clay artists to participate in their Empty Bowls fundraiser scheduled for February 2020.

Empty Bowl Potter Flyer

CASA of Curry County is calling on all artists to DONATE any 3″x3″ or Rubik’s Cube sized piece of art for their November 9 Tiny Art Show and Silent Auction.

The show will be hosted by Wrights Custom Framing and Art store in Brookings, beginning the week of November 4, culminating with the Second Saturday Art Walk, November 9.

Collage Exhibition:  “Stepping out” – October, 2019

Call to Artists

RULES OF ENTRY:
Accepted Media:
Two-dimensional or three-dimensional collage assemblage accepted. Each piece must be wired and ready to hang on the wall (please – no sawtooth).

Size limit for 2-D collage: 16×20 inches, either vertical or horizontal (including frame).

ENTRY FEES:
The non-refundable fees to exhibit are: $10 for the first piece and $5 each for the second and third piece. All art must be for sale and priced. (The gallery commission on sales will be 25%).

PRIZES:
1st prize $50, 2nd prize $25, 3rd prize $15, plus honorable mention ribbon awards.

Judge for the show: Janne Lavalle.

A People’s Choice Award will be decided by public ballot, the winner to receive a one month exhibition as featured artist at Art by the Sea Gallery and Studio during 2020.

ART DELIVERY:
Sunday, September 29th and Monday, September 30 between the hours of 11:00-4:00 pm.

Deliver up to 3 pieces of art, together with completed Entry Form and appropriate fees to Art by the Sea Gallery & Studio, 145 Fillmore Avenue SE, Bandon, OR 97411. At the same time, please attach a copy of your biography (if available), which will be included in the Collage Show binder.

Note: If shipping artwork, please pre-pay return postage fee and send to arrive at this address by dates shown above.

Artist Reception at Art by the Sea Gallery & Studio, Bandon: Saturday, October 5th from 2:00-4:00 pm.

Pick-up Date for Artwork: Saturday and Sunday, October 27th and 28th between 11:00 am and 4:30 pm. At this time, checks will be available to artists for art sold during the month of October.

*Note: Art by the Sea Gallery & Studio reserves the right to refuse any piece of art, due to either presentation or content.

Call to Artists July 2019 “LOOKING UP!”

The Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center will host a show of artworks relating to the theme of Looking Up! This show runs July through September 2019.

Works can be scenes from a bug’s eye view, your eyes, or your mind’s eye.  Think treetops, day or night sky views, cloud scenes, mountain tops, outer space, or other ideas you dream up that relate to the theme.

As usual you can be creative in your interpretation of the theme, keeping in mind that art on the hospital walls is meant to entertain and de-stress the patients, families, staff, and general visitors.  It is not a venue for nudity, violence, morbidity, or as a political soapbox. Thank you for your continued positive approach to art in these shows.

Artists may enter 1-3 pieces using painting, collage, mixed media, drawing, photography or assemblage in all artistic styles: representational, abstract, impressionistic, or futuristic.  All works must be able to be hung on the wall.

Show runs July, August and September 2019

Delivery of Art:
Wednesday, July 3, 2019   2 p.m.

Bring ready-to-hang art with your paperwork to the cafeteria area at Southern Coos Hospital on Wednesday, at 2:00 p.m., or make alternative arrangements with show organizers.
