Free Spaces for Artists
Artisan Hall at Curry County Fair 2018

The Curry County Fair is on its way from Wednesday, July 25th through Saturday, July 28th.  Artisan Hall returns to the Curry Showcase Building at this year’s Curry County Fair located at the Event Center on the Beach in Gold Beach.

Each artist will be given a 4′ x 8′ lattice panel for hanging art for sale.  See below for details.  Wall spaces are free and the commission on sales is only 20%.

Please bring in artwork on Tuesday, July 24th between noon and 2:00 p.m.

Brookings Harbor Community Theater is seeking donations of great big, teeny-tiny pieces of artwork for their fundraiser during the week of July 9th – 14th.

Donations will benefit the Brookings Harbor Community Theater remodel project in their new location.

Coos Art Museum continues its tradition of hosting an annual Maritime Art Exhibition on the scenic southern Oregon Coast. Coinciding with the opening of this annual maritime art exhibit is the Plein-Air/Paint out event for maritime painters. A day of painting outdoors on the Coos Bay; city docks, shipyards, boat basins, sandy beaches, rocky coves, rugged shorelines, dramatic cliffs, lush rain forests and cultured gardens that are all within 10 miles of the Coos Art Museum.

The 25th Annual Maritime Art Exhibition is officially recognized and co-sponsored by the American Society of Marine Artists (ASMA).

This exhibit is open to all artists producing original maritime themed art works in painting and sculpture, including members of American Society of Marine artists and International Society of Marine Painters.

Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center Quarterly Art Show

“Fish & Other Swimmers—From Minnows to Monsters”

 

The Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center will host a summer show of artworks relating to water creatures, real or imaginary, found in lakes, streams, bayous, lochs, rivers or oceans, on earth or beyond, whatever your notion. Show runs July through September, 2018.

Artists may enter 1-3 pieces using painting, collage, mixed media, drawing, photography or assemblage in all artistic styles: representational, abstract, impressionistic, or futuristic. All works must be able to be hung on the wall.

As usual you can be creative in your interpretation of the theme, keeping in mind that art on the hospital walls is meant to entertain and de-stress the patients, families, staff, and general visitors. It is not a venue for nudity, violence, morbidity, or as a political soapbox. Thank you for your continued positive approach to art in these shows.

Pelican Bay Arts Association announces that vendor applications are now available for the Festival of Art in Stout Park, a two day annual fine art and craft festival held on August 4 and 5 this year. You can pick up an application at Manley Art Center, 433 Oak Street in Brookings, or print one online at pelicanbayartsassociation.org or wildriverscoastart.com. The application due date is April 15, 2018. 

This annual Festival includes juried original art works from more than 70 vendors, a kid’s art zone, live music by a variety of local musicians, and a food and beverage court. The event is held in Stout Park adjacent to Manley Art Center on Oak Street in Brookings. 

Community volunteers are invited to join the planning committee. Volunteers are also needed during the festival to serve as greeters and to be booth sitters for vendors while they take short breaks. If you would like to volunteer to help in any way please call 541-469-1807.
