Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center – Call to Artists

Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center (Bandon Hospital)
Call to Artists January – March 2019
Delivery of art:  Wednesday, January 2, 2019  2 p.m.

“Back to the Basics—Drawings in Black, White and Gray”

The Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center will host a show of artworks created depicting any subject matter using the drawing mediums of graphite, charcoal, pen and ink, brush and ink, or other drawing mediums and implements. Artists may enter 1-3 pieces in all artistic styles: representational, abstract, or futuristic.  All works must be able to be hung on the wall. We are looking for work going back to our drawing/mark making roots, primarily in black, white, and gray. Some mixed media but primarily the drawn images are what we are encouraging for the focus of this show.

Saturday Poets and South Coast Hospice – call to artists – delivery date November 7

Saturday Poets, in association with South Coast Hospice, is looking for artists who are willing to donate the use of an image of the artist’s original painting or other wall art in any style to be interpreted in poetry for hospice benefit.

A calendar will be made using 13 images chosen from those submitted, one for the cover and one paired with a poem written by Saturday Poets for each month of the year.

The calendar will be sold as a fundraiser with profits going to support South Coast Hospice to help them continue to offer their valuable services.

It is not required that you have had experience with hospice services to enter artwork.

The deadline for submitting images of paintings is November 7, 2018.

You may enter your submission(s) by email to Jeannie Dever at cb2995or@line.com

Along with the image of your original artwork you may submit a short narrative about a hospice experience you have attended if you would like to do so.

By submitting, you agree that your image can be used for the calendars, and that it may be used for advertising and promotion relating to the sale of the calendars.

You will be notified if your work has been selected, or if it has not been selected for the project by January 9, 2019.

You will not receive payment for the use of your image, but you will be credited as the artist within the calendar.

We, at Saturday Poets, appreciate your generosity and your support of such an important hospice organization within our community.

If you have questions regarding this project, please direct them to Jeannie Dever at cb2995or@line.com.

To learn more about South Coast Hospice, you may visit their website at  http://www.schospice.org/

Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center Call to Artists – Quarterly Art Show

Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center Quarterly Art Show
Call to Artists October 2018
Delivery of Art: Wednesday, October 3, 2018 2 p.m

“Shanties, Shacks, & Other Structures”

The Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center will host a show of artworks created depicting buildings of all sorts—shanties, shacks, barns, bridges and warehouses. All structural things man-made are subjects for the artist’s consideration.

Artists may enter 1-3 pieces using painting, collage, mixed media, drawing, photography or assemblage in all artistic styles: representational, abstract, or futuristic. All works must be able to be hung on the wall. This show runs October through December 2018.

As usual you can be creative in your interpretation of the theme, keeping in mind that art on the hospital walls is meant to entertain and de-stress the patients, families, staff, and general visitors. It is not a venue for nudity, violence, morbidity, or as a political soapbox. Thank you for your continued positive approach to art in these shows.

Show Calendar:  Show runs October, November, and December 2018

Reception:  Sunday, October 7, 2018 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Delivery of Art:  Wednesday, October 3, 2018 2 p.m.

Bring ready-to-hang art plus paperwork to the SCHHC, Bandon.

See you there!
