***CANCELLED*** 5th Annual Gold Beach K-12 Student Art Show April 24 through April 26

Due to public health concerns about the COVID-19 virus, this workshop is being postponed to a future date.  We will update this information when a new date is established.

Artwork by Gold Beach K-12 students will be on display at the 5th Annual Student Art Show held at the Gold Beach Library on Friday, April 24 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday, April 25 and Sunday April 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A reception with refreshments will be held on Friday April 24 beginning at 5 p.m.

Donations will be accepted at the door with all proceeds going directly to the school art program.

Last year, more than 300 pieces were entered in the show in a variety of media, including drawing, painting, ceramics, poetry and industrial arts, according to art instructor Todd Lensing.

Curry Arts supports the arts programs in Gold Beach schools by donating its share of the proceeds from the Brew & Art Festival.  Over the past five years, Curry Arts has given nearly $30,000 to our local elementary school’s art program and the Gold Beach High School’s art and music programs.

Mixed Media Storytelling Workshop – Saturday February 29

The first in a series of four workshops celebrating the 130th birthday of Gold Beach, Storytelling with Mixed Media, will happen on February 29th from 12-4pm at the Curry Public Library in Gold Beach.

The workshop will provide a variety of mixed media materials and demonstrations in collage, texture building, and image transfer so that each participant will be able to create a unique art piece that tells a brief story of Gold Beach’s past or present.

For inspiration, participants are invited to bring a photograph that they have taken or have permission to use that will provide them with a Gold Beach focus. Themes could include natural resources, small town life, local industries, recreation, historical buildings and residents, coastal living, etc.
